Islamic Womens Association of Australia select MYOB Acumatica and TRAILD to automate finance processes

Islamic Women’s Association Of Australia Select MYOB Acumatica

The Islamic Women’s Association of Australia (IWA) have selected MYOB Acumatica and TRAILD Finance Automation to manage growth and increasing regulatory and operational complexity.

IWA is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing aged care services, disability support services and community development services throughout Australia. Their work also includes settlement support services for immigrants and refugees, in addition to the operation of a women’s shelter in Brisbane for victims of domestic violence.

IWA manages just over 500 clients and around 500 workers.

Outgrowing Their Small Business Accounting Software

There were several factors contributing to IWA’s decision to replace their small business accounting software with a comprehensive ERP and Finance Automation system, chief among them was their size.

“We’re growing but we’re also doing a lot of the work manually, which has become really difficult for our team,” “We want efficiency, but also accuracy in the data.” Said Tetyana Sukkar, Finance Manager for the Islamic Women’s Association of Australia.

The Need For Finance Automation

Recent reforms in the aged care industry are presenting additional challenges for an organisation the size of the IWAA. It is now necessary to automate payables and reporting functions because the aged care reforms require IWA to on charge their clients a percentage of the cost of services provided, which is then creating a significant new invoicing workload.

As Tetyana explained “not only are we going to have thousands of payable invoices, but we’re also going to have to manage around 500 extra receivables each month.”
IWA will be adopting TRAILD for Accounts Payable and Finance Automation which will reduce their risk from fraud while also allowing the finance team to focus on the exceptions.

“Right now it’s a very manual process,” Tetyana said. “With TRAILD’s machine learning, it will help us pick on outliers, changes that happen within BSB numbers, account numbers, and sometimes people charging us for GST when they’re not registered for GST.”

Data Management and Reporting

The organisation has been struggling to gather accurate financial data in a timely manner across multiple funding types and programs. As well as this, limitations in their existing rostering software also created problems with client statements.

“By implementing MYOB Acumatica, the IWA team is looking forward to enhanced reporting capabilities with real-time dashboards that can be used by program managers to show where each program is sitting and tracking each program’s funding,” said Tetyana.

A Comprehensive Not-For-Profit ERP Solution

With streamlined financial processes, better reporting capabilities, and enhanced automation with the MYOB Acumatica + TRAILD solution, IWA will be better positioned to fulfill their mission of supporting vulnerable communities while efficiently managing the complex funding environment in which they operate.

The transition to a new ERP system represents a significant change for any organisation, making the selection of an implementation partner crucial. For IWA, the decision to work with Ndevr has proven beneficial.

“Working with Ndevr as our implementation partner has been great so far,” said Tetyana. “Their team have been very knowledgeable and helpful to work with. They’ve taken the time to understand our unique requirements as a not-for-profit.”

The Islamic Women’s Association of Australia are looking forward to creating the administrative foundation that allows them to maximise their social impact while meeting increasingly complex regulatory requirements.
