NIS Key Features
- Purpose built for organisations looking to integrate other systems and/or web portals with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
- Provides a SOA platform plus a set of pre-built NIS Web Services which “expose” JDE business functions (e.g. Get Stock Available, Get Price) to any web-enabled product
- Aggregates JDE Business Functions for more complex processes (e.g. Purchase Orders, Sales Orders) ensuring easy integration with other systems
- Industry Web Service standards (WS-I) have been adhered to, enabling the latest in web security, encryption, etc - your data is safe!
- NIS Web Services are re-usable as per standard SOA protocol, and as such can be rapidly assembled into new, composite applications
- Flexible - NIS can use any Web Service, can run on any SOA platform, and hardware can be scaled up and scaled out
- Enables Developers of 3rd party systems to easily perform a process or gather information from JDE without needing to understand the JDE system peculiarities such as JDE date structures, math numeric’s, business unit formats, etc
- Eliminates the need to use JDE “Z-tables”, since web services execute actual JDE business functions in much the same manner as native JDE Reports or Screens
- Can also be tailored to work with JDE system modifications that have been internally developed for your business needs, by “exposing” tailored/modified business functions and incorporating them into NIS
- Compatible with JDE version XE onwards, including future releases of JDE EnterpriseOne, making the switch easy if native JDE Web Services become available (introduced in 8.12) when you upgrade in the future
