Environmental Policy

Ndevr is committed to efficient and low-impact business practice.

Procedures & Business Practice

Ndevr's policy was established 3 years ago when considering the Ndevr Greenhouse Emission Solution requirements. The following Ndevr business practices evidence a pragmatic commitment to minimising environmental impact in our day to day business activities:

  • • All electricity used is now GreenPower certified
  • • When travelling by plane, airline offsets are always purchased
  • • We minimise paper usage by only printing final documents, drafts are reviewed electronically
  • • We limit the travel of staff by using WebEx, Skype and other internet meeting facilities where possible
  • • Ndevr have received the Worldwide Oracle Award titled Enable the Eco Enterprise
  • • Printer Cartridges and Mobile phones are required to be recycled
  • • Removed all plastic cutlery, cups and plates/bowls from the kitchens using crockery instead
  • • Instigated the green line 'please consider the environment before printing' on all Ndevr email signatures as a standard
  • • Recycle paper and cardboard and pushed facility management to provide for the separation and recycling of organic waste
  • • Participant in the Earth Hour initiative
  • • Implemented default double sided printing on all multi-function devices (MFDs) such as printers
  • • Implemented default black and white printing on all colour MFDs
  • • Established recycled stationary cupboards
  • • E-waste recycled

Ndevr measure our greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption yearly, with a view to minimising and ultimately neutralising our footprint. Due to our operations being service orientated, and many staff being embedded at other organisations, our impact is quite small. That being said we like to practice what we preach and aim to be carbon neutral by 2013.

See below at Table '1' the scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions associated with our Melbourne operations for the 2009/10 fiscal year.

Ndevr-Environmental-Policy---Results-2011

Aspirational Targets

2010/11 – Total tCO2-e <70 tCO2-e

                – Net <30 tCO2-e

2011/12 – Total tCO2-e <50 tCO2-e

                – Net <10 tCO2-e

2012/13 – Total tCO2-e <30 tCO2-e

                – Net <10 tCO2-e

Ndevr is currently situated in a 2.5 star NABERS rated building. We aim to move to a 3.5 star + building towards the end of 2011 which will further reduce our emissions and energy profile on top of existing mitigation and reduction efforts.

Ndevr's water use is estimated to be 2,060 litres/year; there is little scope to reduce usage and toilet and shower facilities are shared central services.

We believe our skills and specialist services are our biggest asset as we work with clients to help them measure, monitor, manage and ultimately reduce their environmental impact on a large scale.
